The Klinkhamer was originally designed by Hans Van Klinken to copy the fly emerging from its shuck as it made the change to a flying insect. They are different from many other parachute dry flies in that the thorax of the fly is designed to hang down through the surface of the water and this can be seen by trout from a great distance so increasing your chances of tempting a hungry fish.
