Sedges ( Caddis ) form a huge part of a trouts diet, and fishing them is probably the most exciting sport you can imagine, as the evening light has just gone then you hear the spashy slashing sounds of the feeding fish and you just hope that the next fly they take will be yours.
Tony Hern developed this fly with the late Geoffrey Rivaz of Hungerford in 1974 it works excellently as an all round dry fly, and has taken more trout for me than any other. and it seems to work in all aspects. Drifting loch style, small stillwater, moorland brownies, even sea trout at night time.
